What You Will Do:
As a Pharmacy Technician at the University of Maryland Medical Center you will play a crucial role in patient care and recovery in all areas of specialty throughout the Medical Center in an environment that's truly on the cutting edge. Our pharmacists and technicians work in labs equipped with the latest robotic technology and specialized computer systems alongside practitioners who are leading the industry in drug research and therapy. Your primary duties will be to fill orders for unit doses, pre-packaged pharmaceuticals, intravenous admixtures, controlled substances, floor stock, supplemental medications, emergency kits and general stock. You will also perform other related pharmacy duties such as drug product recalls, pharmacy area inspections and medication pick-up and delivery to and from patient care areas.
What You Need to Be Successful:
Dedication to providing proficient and compassionate pharmaceutical care services to both patients and health care professionals. The ability to understand and adhere to five core values: Accountability, Adaptability, Excellence, Integrity, and Respect. Highly effective written and verbal communication skills and strong mathematical skills. Maryland Board of Pharmacy registration is required for this position. Successful completion of a Pharmacy Technician Training Program accredited by the American Society of Hospital Health System Pharmacists and National certification preferred.
